Rolled up to the, newly named ‘Can you Rock?’ event in montreal this past weekend; formerly Meeting of styles. I was looking forward to 12 hours in the car making light conversation with myself since i had no takers on wanting to go to the event from my area. Luckily the day before i got in touch with Dave-foto (Mr Ny with a lens) who had his ride back out on him due to some extenuating circumstances. Im kinda slow to get to know people so i was a lil apprehensive of sitting in a whip with a someone i didnt know very well for so long. Luckily Mr Foto couldn’t be a nicer dude. The ride to the border went off with out a hitch, and the wait to get the customs booth was shorter then usual. Thank god ive been the victim of identity theft at some point and the Canadians are on the case. They Hauled us in for a car tossing and 20 questions. There is part of me that would love to give them the excitement they so dearly need at the border, to bad i keeps my nose clean. I know theyd have been stoked to nab someone for something good. At any rate the Canadian border patrol is not to be trifled with. Even though i was ina t-shirt they still asked to see my arm tattoos; Note i dont have ANY. Rasta and Tattoo dont really go hand in hand, but bless them for not making any rash generalizations. They wouldnt be specific about what the other me had done or why they were so interested in him, but they did tell me there was someone fitting my description who had my exact date name and DOB. which to me is impossible as my fisrt and last name might be common the combination of middle names creates some serious odds of it being matched. In high school i had a friend who was born on the same day as I and had initials that matched save our last names, but he was a mullet rocking Rocker dude. Anyway i digress. I cleared up the confusion at the border, until next i cross im sure), and it was smooth sailing into Montreal.
I dropped Dave off with his people and went to get some paint and kill sometime until the rest of the crew arrived from New England. Finally i got a text saying they were headed to do a silver on the other side of town. Game on. I programmed the GPS and was in the whip ready to rock. The GPS had me 6 kilometers from my destination, an mere 11 minutes away. Apparently there was some huge fire that shut down the east west highways and seriously congested the. A quick two hours later and i was at the spot ready to paint.
I arrived to spot and was instructed to park in a lot of closed business and then climb under a fence. There is something baffling about getting to a legal wall via some means the make it feel illegal, but after some initial taunting about being quite and blowing up the spot it was revealed that it was actually a permission spot. The fellas had already started, since it took me so long to get there so i had to work pretty fast to catch up and not hold up forward progress when we were all done. so for a slow motion hor or so i painted this silver, the whole time there was some poor starving cat letting the world know how unhappy it was. I love animals but i was ready to kill this cat after about 40 minutes of it crying. I almost got it food at a corner store near buy but it didn’t have anything i cat would enjoy. SO we all suffered a bit.
We finally made it back to the flop house, (dont be fooled by the flop bit, it was an awesome house), where i immediately tried to pass out. However Preys was out for blood and and spent the night raping the magical forrest to death, he clear cut the forrest. Every-time i was about to fall asleep hed start the industrial chain saw and get back to snoring. Its not a road trip if you wake up well rested and clear headed. after some coffee it was on to the main event. I dont think ive painted so slowly in years, i could NOT get it together into some sort of workable rhythm for hours. Thanks to Kems for waking up early to go get flicks of the silver while the pansies slept and i tired to sleep…
At any rate Montreal is pretty awesome, the more I go the more i like it, and in recent years have been able to like it more as ive had a chance to get further out from its downtown, which is cool, but not really where the magic is.

Did some clean up/ surface prep with some mists of yellow, orange and red beltons. and started to sketch out some letters.
